I heard about this a while back, that the type of news shown can have a large influence on the viewers, and I know that all I see on the news in America is violence.

  1. Got HOCKEY?  Good luck, eh.

Got actually illegal energy deals, gouging the US?  Violence is a fact of life.  Canada owns some of ours.

When Ca. Gov. Gray Davis tendered 20-year power deals in Dec. 2000, aimed at the grid bottleneck of the May-June 2001 nuclear refurbishings, he cooked OUR books and yours, sending fat costs, all over the world.  The NHL owners told the players to get to the table.  They failed, striking in 2004.  All pro sports CBAs are tainted contracts, illegally affecting NCAA schools, which feed the pro leagues.

The law schools alone harbor enough riot and cause of action, to close the schools, until they get away from the sports freaks.  Law schools churn illegally interested graduates, into illegal markets and to churned cases.

The deregulated power and NAFTA with drug wars makes the US into a blood bag, for Canada and Mexico to drain.  Wonder if any of that gets to their TV?  Sooner or later!

  2. I live in Montreal, the only violence seen lately was from last night's hockey game on the street where 16 police cars got torched Boston & Montreal ( Montreal won ,Yay ! ) But usually no they do not show violence much on the tv here.

  3. After viewing both Canadian and American news, it is my opinion that American news is a tad more sensationalized.  I think the old adage, "if it bleeds, it leads" is quite true in both countries, however.
