Does Canadian Subway Scrabble differ from American Subway Scrabble?

Right now there is a Subway Scrabble competition going on (you win letters at subway, if you spell a word then you get a prize). I am curious - is the competition specific to the country (i.e. is there one competition in Canada, separate from the competition in the U.S.) or is it all one big competition? Can tiles be used interchangably between countries?

Also, how common is the tile "Y"? Does anybody know how many of them there are in North America?

  1. The Canadian game is different in that the prizes are different, and contests rules in Canada are different.  I don't think the game pieces  are interchangeble.  I have read here on this site that there are 25 Y's in the whole of the USA.
