Question:

Does CapitolOne have a secured credit card available?

I have no credit history and would like to build my credit. I have a savings/checking account in excellent standing with Bank of America. I know that Bank of America has a secured credit card. But I want to know if CapitolOne has one. If yes, which one is better? Bank of America secured or CapitolOne secured? I can't get a student credit card, as I'm also declined for those because of no credit history, so I have to get a secured one for the time being. Thanks =)

  1. Here is the number for Capital One Secured Card Customer service:

    Secured Card Customer Relations 1-800-333-7116

I would suggest comparing terms between BoA and CapOne and apply for whichever is best for you in your circumstances.  Either way, try to pay the card off each month so you don't rack up large interest charges.

  2. BOA is better.  If you prove yourself with BOA the unsecured cards they offer are better and there are more choices

  3. Yes they do and most banks have a secured credit card. You might be better off going with B of A since you have an account there or you will need to open an account with Capital One to get their secured credit card. Here is more information on how to get credit without a credit history. http://www.badcreditfixup.com/how-to-est...

  4. Even with out history you should be able to get a C1 card.  There might be a small annual fee involved until your history is built up.  Check out www.creditcards.com - one application to multiple providers.
