Does Caracas have nice areas to wander around?

I used to live in San Francisco, and loved to wander and explore the city. It is so lovely and interesting. Does Caracas have any nice areas to wander and explore? Gracias.

Are you nuts, Caracas is the crime capital of Latin American. Just wondering the city as a tourist can get you killed. And if you don't believe me, read the articules at the links below.

You can go to the Avila Mountain, it is the favorite hiking area, it is really beautiful and it can give great views of the city. It is a National Park.

You can visit the Botanic Garden. There is also Parque del Este, which would be smaller and tropical version of the Golden Gate Park.

Los Palos Grandes is a great area to go. Eating is a must there. Italian, Venezuelan, Japanese, etc. You have options and great restaurants.

Las Mercedes offers many restaurants and shopping options. Check the shopping mall.

El Hatillo, which is far from the rest of the city, it is nice and has the historic little town style.

You have to party in Caracas. A lot of bars and clubs to go.

The beach is 40 minutes away (warm Caribbean Sea). Anyone can suggest which beach is good.

Caracas is more dangerous than SF. You have to be careful all the time. But you can go and explore.

Even though there's a Metro (Subway) system, the city is kind of like L.A., you need a car.
