Me and my girlfriend just bought a cruiese trip to mexico. Not even 10 minutes later we decided to cancel. They proceeded to tell us over the phone that there is a $300 cancellation fee. What is that all about. Not even 10 minutes later..

  1. Depends when you bought it.   How close is the ship to sailing?     If the ship was sailing within the next 60-75 days, you would lose your deposit.

  2. Did you use a travel agent?  Or was it directly from the cruise line.  If it was a travel agent they are due a fee for the work they put into planning your trip that you chose to cancel....however, they have a bit of leeway and may have been able to reduce your cancelation fee.  If you bought directly from Carnival their policies in general allow no leeway...especially if you bought a cheap cruise or package.  Sorry....but I'm sure the cancellation penalties were disclosed before you closed the deal.

  3. Unfortunately, once you reserve your space there is a cancellation fee if you should decide to cancel.  This is a standard procedure with most cruise lines, and even with airlines.

  4. what would happen if u jus didnt show up
