I'm 16, 17 next month, with schools first. They give me an ATM card but wont give me a debit card because I'm a minor and they think i'll blow all my money

i know minors can be issued debits cards with bank of america, but i wont bank with them because i found out they open accounts with illegal immigrants

Does anybody know if Washington Mutual or Citibank or any other large banks offer debit cards to minors?

  1. well there is something called Visa Buxx for teenagers

    and parents

    see

    www.usa.visa.com/personal/cards/prepai... - 27k -

(you can even apply on line for this debit card

(really is a prepaid carrd not  debit card)

  2. h**l, they gave a 6 yr old one......this was on the news.....however, i'm not sure if this was the same bank

  3. Perhaps your parents could cosign?  I'm sorry I can't be much help but it's worth a try.

  4. No, you have to be 17 to have a student checking account co-signed by a parent. If you are 18 you don't need a parent on the account with you and you can have them removed from it, they will not give you the card no matter how much you plea till you turn 17 and ask your mom or dad to co sign an account for you. You could go to walgreens and get a green dot prepaid card, I hear they work with atm's so it is like a check card.
