im thinking about joining this gym but just wanted to know if anyone has used it and how it went. i have never joined a gym before but have just started a new job and have one across the road which means i can go before work without thinking it is wasting my afternoon. I dont want to join and then hate it and be left paying for membership that i wont use! if you have used it can you let me know how it went for you? and the cost etc? i have been told that it is only for older women and im 21 and wondering if I will enjoy it

thanks!

  1. One of my friends used to go to Contours. She joined there because she has kids and didn't have much time to go to the gym. She found it ok to start with but she said she got bored really quickly, as it's just like the same circuit over and over again. Weight training is great and all women should do it, but I think Contours is probably best suited to really overweight women or maybe older ladies just starting to exercise. I think if you already had a reasonable level of fitness you would get bored. I used to belong to Fernwood which was good to start with but I guess as my fitness increased I outgrew it. At the one I went to it also seemed to have a lot of mums and older ladies who just wanted to do a gentle stroll on a treadmill. I belong to a regular mixed gym now and find it challenges me more. I guess it depends what you're looking for.

  2. well, my mum goes to fernwood. she says most of the people at her gym came from contours. she says that most people told her that it is rubbish. i suggest finding a better gym. seriously.

  3. Sorry I cant help, I havent been there either, but a I am thinking of joining - great question and I will be watching the answers.
