  1. I have used the cheap, regular, ziplock bags to do this for years.  My salad greens and fruit always last a few weeks.  Bananas I do not bag, I do store them in the frig though and they last a long time.  The outside gets black but the inside remains nice for eating.  If i do neglect to eat the bananas soon enough they do go mushy but then i simply toss them in a ziplock bag in the freezer and make Nanner Bread at a later date.  : )

    Happy June !

If the bags you speak of are inexpensive, I say give them a try.

  2. I've been using them since shortly after the first of the year and they work great for most of the produce I've put in them.  I particularly like them for salad greens like lettuce and spinach.

I'm stopped using them for bananas though, because the bananas stay nice and yellow on the outside, but still get overripe and mushy on the inside.

  3. sure.

  4. probably does

  5. I use them for my lizard's leafy greens and they last way longer.

  6. I was surprised that they actually do work.  I bought some at Bed Bath and Beyond, and have been putting my fresh fruit in them.  They really do extend the "shelf life" of foods.  They are also reusable up to 10 times per bag.  And, they are pretty inexpensive, so its worth trying them out.

  7. yes they realy do work as long as the food is dry and you squeeze out as much air as possible

  8. Yes, they definitely do...

They had a 'does it really work' segment on TV about it and it won hands-down..only thing that didn't work was for bananas..everything else..great!

Kept most everything fresh for two weeks!
