  1. Yeah i definitely think so. If she can produce the level she had a few weeks ago in hamburg then for sure Maria will have a tough match on her hands. Safina played amazing against the top players so if Maria wants to win she better keep those dam errors to a minimum. Should be an exciting match.

  2. absolutely she does! i would actually even give her a slight edge. dinara has not only been playing brilliantly these last few weeks but she's actually beaten maria before at RG in 06. i certainly hope she does. she deserves this moment because of her play on the red clay. maria just hasn't shown such greatness given all the hype about her prospects.

  3. yes she will win.

  4. Yeah i would say she has a 60 - 40 chance over sharapova. Clay has never been sharapova's strength and she has struggled through the tournament against lower ranked players. But Safina is no push over and should give her a good run for her money. Match is definitely going to be a three setter and hopin safina pulls off an upset today!! Fingers crossed!!!

  5. I think so, Sharapova just edges their head to head record. Sharapova hasn't looked too convincing recently so maybe she will win it 2 sets to 1.

  6. Yes she does! If you remember, Ana Ivanovic was able to make it to the finals in Roland Garros last year, but yet she wasn't even one of the favorites in the WTA circuit that time.  Even in Wimbledon 2007, Justine Henin was eliminated by a much lower ranked Marion Bartoli in the semifinals. Surprising, if you say, but never impossible.  If you also still remember, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga also made it to the finals, a much lower ranked player compared to most players that he was able to eliminate in Australian Open 2008.  He even was able to demolish Rafael Nadal on his run to the finals, unfortunately though, he wasn't able to make it through eventual champion Novak Djokovic.  Back to your question, Dinara Safina was able to win against Justine Henin, Serena Williams, and Elena Dementieva, and then won the German Open.  All of the players she downed were in the World top 10.  So I won't be surprised should she be able to take home the French Open 2008 crown.  And even if she doesn't, for me, she is still no doubt a player to watch for in the WTA.

  7. Ok, she had won the match.
