Does Direct tv use regular coaxial cables?

I am trying to rearrange my daughter's room, but the cable isn't long enough. Can I just go buy a long coaxial (sp?) cable? Will that work? Or does Direct TV use something else? It looks the same....

  1. Directv uses coaxial cables.  Just make sure you buy RG6 cable as opposed to RG59.  RG6 is for digital signals.  The packaging will clearly say which of these you are purchasing.
