Does Donovan McNabb still have fantasy value?

Starting to focus on the fantasy season and am questioning McMabb.....is he still a top 5 fantasy QB? He seems to get drafted high, but I'm not solid on him or the Eagles. What are other people's thoughts for this year?

  1. he still has value but i odnt think he is a top 5 qb. if he falls late in draft u should get him b/c he either scores ALOT or nothing at all. it really all depends on the matchup w/ him. i wouldnt use him as your started. (injuries also a porb w/ him)

  2. if he doesnt get injured hes top 5 with no question but the problem is he gets injured every year my advice to you is if you get mcnabb get a good backup

  3. He's not a top 5 QB (at this point I have a hard time believing he'll get through a full season), but of course he still has value.  What he doesn't have is much talent beyond Westbrook to catch the ball.  If you have him on your roster, though, you'll have to have another solid QB in case he does go down.  Therein lies the big problem: since many people do rate him highly still, you would have to draft him fairly early to get him, and then if you wanted to make sure you had another solid QB you'd most likely have to pick another QB within a few rounds of picking McNabb, otherwise you'd be taking a stab on a questionable talent late in the draft.  That of course means that instead of getting RB or WR depth, you'd be spending a pick on a player who won't be starting for your team most weeks.  I have no intention of drafting McNabb unless I already have a good QB and he falls way down in the draft.

  4. He's close.

Manning is probably the best most consistent performer for the last couple years.

Brady had a huge season but it is his single best and he'd never come close to those numbers before. He should be good this year but likely will not surpass last season's stats.

Romo is pretty big time in the regular season and has the weapons to at least be the 3rd best QB.

After these guys comes the likes of McNabb, Brees, Hasselbeck, Palmer, Eli, Roethlisberger and Anderson.

Each has good points and bad.

I'd put Anderson and Palmer in front of McNabb because they have the receivers to have huge numbers. McNabb has little more then Westbrook. McNabb, Brees and Eli seem to be pretty interchangeable.

You wouldn't hurt yourself with McNabb unless you take him too early or pay him too much (auction style). He probably ranks no higher then 6th best.
