Nope, they have just shown this by this weeks ESPN the magazine. OK... So we've had a whole week of hype from the fans about this series. One of the best Stanley Cup Finals matchups ever, on paper. So how many articles are there in the new ESPN the Mag about the series????

NONE. Only one picture of Zetterberg crashing the net against Dallas. NOT EVEN A TOKEN SIDNEY CROSBY ARTICLE.

You call this a sports magazine. Well I'm sick of reading about football. The season is 16 games long, mostly so that they can talk about each game for a month. I don't give a c**p about a baseball season that has 200 more games to play. This issue should be about NBA playoffs and Stanley Cup Playoffs. I didn't really look for NBA stuff, but I'm sure its there. How hard is it to realize that hockey is the most entertaining sport out there. It's because the normal American sports fan has the attention span of a moth. Normal fans mean, football and baseball fans.

  1. It's a very Canadian sport, that people in the United States, don't really care about. Furthermore, the game of hockey slightly resembles soccer in scoring, so you know that Americans don't particularly favor the sport.

  2. yeah man... they don't just ignore hockey they dump on it.

but on the real man.. espn sucks and so does football... both are all about the money... the NFL has a team that won a whole bunch of super bowls and it turns out they don't follow the rules and the league doesn't care cause they are afraid that they will lose money.  ESPN is all about the advertisers and so is the NFL and hockey is all about hockey so there.

Hockey's biggest problem is that the average joe doesn't know the rules... its very confusing to people that don't know offsides.  They dunno why thye don't have a guy that just stands in front of the goal and tries to score on the home run pass or why the wistle blows fr offsides or icing... hockey isn't great for tv, its best live... football was made fr tv and they put ads in it to nausuem...

get off baseball bro.  baseball is awesome.

try reading the hockey news fr a hockey mag.

  3. I agree! I always look for magazines that talk hockey, but never seem to find ONE! Its probably because hockey is not that popular where i live.

It is annoying that espn doesnt care about hockey that much but you just deal with it i guess.

  4. espn only cares about promoting themselves and bandwagoning the next big cross over superstar that doesn't even have to win. even when espn had hockey, they barely showed any highlights and gosh forbid they took the time to even promote the players & teams.

and yeah jason, i agree with you that if you have a sports show,  it shouldn't be up to you to decide what to talk about, it should be up to the fans. of course, not like M&M have time to discuss sports with their discussions about one Mike being fat, the other Mike being like a metrosexual, who's son is going where, and old college stories. but after watching some of the guys on ATH who obviously have no clue about hockey, maybe its best they keep quiet about things they don't know.

  5. Well, when it comes down to it, every network has a right to make their own priorities.  I definitely disagree with ESPN's priorities, so you won't find me watching them, even if I lived in the US.

But if lots of other people like ESPN's way of doing things, then they will watch ESPN.

So, just watch the sports networks that do things the way you like and don't worry about the others.

  6. noooo cause they are gaynoooo causenoooo cause they are gaynoooo cause they are g*y they are g*y

  7. Yeah, I subscribe too, and was real disappointed that there was no articles. They had five pages on some MMA dude, plus the cover photo and NOTHING about the NHL playoffs. There coverage has sucked all season long. Freaking ridiculous. This should be a lesson to all those who think hockey should be back on E "no s"PN. They just don't care. Guess competitive eating and poker are  more important.

The NHL didn't leave them. ESPN low-balled them on the contract, and they went to OLN/Versus. The ratings on Versus this season have been better with fewer households than they ever were on ESPN.

  8. Fsns in america loved hockey. Untill bettman took fighting out. Don't blame espn blame bettman.

  9. you sound surprised.

  10. EXCURSE ME TL?!?!?!?!

Just because its not a major sport in America doesnt mean at all nobody cares about it........its becoming more and more popular in our country and Millions of americans watch and enjoy hockey, dont diss your big brothers from the south.

  11. Not really.  And an ESPN show, Mike and Mike, has publicly stated they don't talk about Hockey because they aren't big fans.  That is pretty wrong in my opinion.  Sports shows and stations should do everything they can to promote all different kinds of Sports.

  12. Does The Golf Channel care about rowing?

  13. ESPN has never really cared about hockey. One of the reason I no longer subscribe to their rag. Hockey is way too classy for them. They think the idiots of the NFL and NBA are what keeps the kids attention. So they overlook a great sports for thug ball

  14. I have heard that maybe ESPN2 will have some hockey games next year. It would be surprising, but I can't believe they show more soccer than hockey. ESPN sucks in that matter, but Barry Melrose is mullet god !

  15. No, no they probably don't, probably never have, and probably never will.

  16. Why would they?  The NHL left them, why waste time on a league that won't make a TV contract with you?

  17. I agree with everything you said, ESPN has never cared. They play a 20 second highlight of a Stanley Cup Playoff game, thats not enough time to highlight an entire game.
