Can "non-living" things like a toy have a perspective? Whether it be a leaf on a tree or the a kid walking down the street.

  1. In philosophy there is a very confusing concept called the "thing-in-itself".  This is part of what makes the philosophy of Immanuel Kant so freaking confusing!  Basically, the idea is that an object has qualities that are independent of any outside observer.  This is about as close as you can come to giving an object a perspective.

Interesting to note is that Nietzsche basically came along and said that even though those qualities might exist, they cannot interact with the outside world and cannot be directly observed and so we can't even talk about it.  This basically means that even if objects did have a point of view it would be useless to try and figure them out, because we would presumably be inflicting our own point of view onto the object.

  2. Every point in the know universe is unique and therefore an  unique perspective. Only things that have the ability to know this know it.

  3. only if you are slightly batty and give your toys personalities.

  4. Looks that way from Here...

  5. DEPENDS on 'how U look @ it'  LOL

  6. The way I see it, no.

  7. We'll never know, will we? I personally believe only living things can really have a perspective or vantage point...if something doesn't have a mind, how can it even understand perspective or what's going on around it?
