I'm doing a paper on improving the food served at East Side Mario's, and their unhealthy menu is a big part of my argument.

  1. people need to get over the trans fat thing..  fried is fried and fat is unhealthy even if it is trans fat free..  talk about that nstead..  how media focuses on small aspects of nutritional value ingmoring the nutritional value as a whole..  like the obsession with low fat or fat free items which usually contain extra sugar and/or sodium..

  2. Is it really that unhealthy - I mean really, they serve salad or soup to start - so ok, maybe eating that delicious bread isn't the healthiest, but one has the right to say no to it.  The pasta, well, the only thing probably not good for you is the "starch" found in the pasta itself - but hey the tomato sauce comes from tomatoes, so it can't be all bad.  I love East Side Marios and if I want to eat healthy - I stay at home.

  3. Does this help:

  4. no

  5. Yes, the oil used at East Side Mario's is trans-fat free.  So is the Alfredo sauce.

Most of the fats in the foods come from two sources: cheese and olive oil.  Jury's out on whether that's bad or not.

The link was probably pointing to the nutrition guide on the web.  Go to www.eastsidemarios.com, pick a restaurant location and go to the "Our Menu" section.  The nutrition guide is posted at the bottom of the menu section list on the left.
