Does England/ UK have lawyers?

Since they have a monarchy does that change whether they have lawyers as part of their political system? If so, are their roles the same as American lawyers?

  1. I suppose if you wanted to sue somebody in England you'd probably say "I'll call my solicitor?" instead of "I'll call my lawyer?"  Hmmm interesting terminology.


  2. They have barristers who try cases in court and solicitors who do everything else an American attorney would do.
