Does FDIC insurance apply to non US residents?

Is there any residency requirement for FDIC insurance to apply? If a non US resident has a savings account in a U.S. bank (that is FDIC insured), is the savings insured up to 100K just as you'd expect?

if your money is in a FDIC insured bank than your account is insurred up to the 100,000 limit.
