1. Nothing advocates being disrespectful to those older than you. But here's the problem. Define respect? Is it doing exactly what your family elders tell you, regardless? Doesn't sound like respect to me, it sounds like slavery. There is no respect in slavery. If respect means, "I will listen to what you believe is good for me, and will heed your advice and guidance on matters in life", then that is ok.

  2. nope. i'm a feminist and you better believe i respect my parents.

  3. No. This is all about societal decay and how parents aren't teaching manners to their children now.

  4. No.

  5. No it definitely does not, I think it is more of the "social decay" that you are referring to , feminism has nothing to do with people losing their manners and politeness.

I think that stems from a society where thinking is optional and respect for others is fading away.

However morbid and tragic that may seem, at least do your bit and I'll do mine and we can set the example for those around us.

  6. Societal decay.

Although feminism gets blamed for everything from inflation to global warming, so I can see why you might have a tendency to point to feminism for any and all societal ills.

  7. Absolutely not. If anything, I would respect my elders because of their experience in life. This is not to say that all older people are right all the time. An old fool is just a young fool that got older.

But, the thinkers and doers of previous generations paved the way to the advances in society that we enjoy today.

Feminism, as I understand it, promotes mutual respect between men and women. Bad manners are not a bye product of feminism. People had bad manners before the word feminism was in our collective memory.

  8. I think...somethings wrong with your medulla oblongata.

  9. No. Where did you get an idea like that?
