Does France have Prepaid Cell Phones?

I am traveling to France at the end of the month and I was wondering if wireless providers in France offer cheap throwaway prepaid cell phones [ie Boost Mobile, Virgin Mobile]. If anyone has information on this it would be greatly appreciated.

  1. There are plenty of prepaid services. Your best solution is to take your own cell phone (make sure it is not locked into one particular operator) and buy a SIM card in France. I use Breizh Mobile, but Virgin Mobile also do a suitable one (in fact most of the operators do).

If your US phone is not SIM-unlockable, you can buy a phone locally. Supermarkets sell completely unlocked ones for about 45 euros, and you can get phones locked into an operator from about 25 euros.

If you go to the Barbes area of Paris (well known for bargain hunters) you can get a phone and a prepaid card for under 30 euros.

  2. yes, if you see an SFR shop (there are many everywhere) you can just buy a cheap phone and get a SIM for it, then add minutes to the SIM w/ an SFR pre-paid card pin.

  3. Yes there is, have a look onto those below web sites :

    http://www.orange.fr/

    I hope it help.

    Cheerio.
