social system? meaning? they have one of the best health care systems in the world, but don't know what you mean by social system.

and actually, in response to the anti-socialist comment,  if you look at socialist nations across the globe - they tend to have a very high quality of life. can't knock socialism done right. the one's who tend to knock those places are the ones who don't live there! but France does have its problems...

The French Social System is bankrupting the French government. The immigration practices of the French government resulted in the the burning of cars last year by Arab youths living in Paris.  The French labor movements' tendency to strike at the drop of a hat, and the French government's tolerance of such frequent (sometimes weekly) stupid strikes by the subway system brings Paris to a chaotic mess frequently.  France is a beautiful place and I have many friends there, but I would NEVER move there unless or until their heavily socialist-leaning government changes.
