  2. Surprisingly virtually none at all.  There are a few depots dotted around the country, called "Emmaus" - founded to help the homeless etc.  But some of those open as infrequently as one day a month.

  3. There are quite a lot of shops in France with "TROC" as part of their name.  These are shops where you can buy second-hand items that are displayed on behalf of the sellers for a commission.  They are not the same as Brocantes that just sell second hand items.

    The Emmaus charity referred to above is known throughout France and even has branches elsewhere (there is one at Dover).

  4. More thrift shops than charity. You have the fripiers, secondhand clothes dealers who buy back clothes, repair them and sell them back. You can find accessories too there.
