  1. I dunno, maybe, probably not though. The best way to go when your buying any electronic used is ebay...

  2. open

  3. Yes.  They label such items with an "open box" sticker.  Whatever the item, it will be right next to the new items.

  4. Fry's sells opened items at a marked down price.  Not much discoutn but a small one.  You're better off building it yourself from parts.  You'll save hundreds.  But you have to be willing to learn a bit but its not rocket science.

  5. Yes. On the shelves where it would normally be. Most of their stuff that is returned is slapped right back on the shelves. Look for a little white square sticker on it. usually has a date and some initials in pen written on it. Means it has been returned. Even if it has they should still warranty it.

Used/open but not in the sense I think you mean. They might, but not usually. They would be marked clearly. usually in the same section they are normally in.

Not everything returned is bad. A lot of people are stupid and buy tthe wrong c**p, then have to take it back cause it didn't work/fit for them. Usually it will have a reduced price as well.

On the other hand, Tigerdirect.com and newegg.com are a far better place to get gear. Build it yourself, or buy combos.
