  1. I thought he was #2 before so no. If his next fight is BJ Penn then the winner of that fight goes to #1, loser #3 and A. Silva drops to #2, mainly because his only fight for the next few months will be Cote.

  2. no way anderson silva best p4p gsp did t look very good i was expecting more from hem 5 rounds decision

not god anderson 1st or 2nd round  tko or submition in his last 7 in the ufc

    best p4p

  3. I think that fight ability would be a better fit than pound for pound.  GSP already beat Penn.  Hughes beat Penn more recently.  Penn may have lost because of his lack of stamina in those both fights, but he also lost because he could not defend against Hughes's or GSP's takedowns and ground control.  Did the Fitch fight rank him "up there."  He was already at the top of my lists - before this fight - which is why I was pretty confident he would beat Fitch.  The only other fighter that may be as well rounded - as good at what he does - and simply great at all the techniques he trains with and uses would be Anderson Silva.  Which fighter is better?  I think that GSP has had to contend with better fighters than Silva has but I still can't say who is a better - all round - fighter.

  4. That's a no for me. First of all, I have him at third; first going to Penn, second to A. Silva. This is a fight that GSP should have won anyway. So really all he did was solidify his spot.

  5. he was already there.Dont know if he is number one but he is top 5.Penn and silva are right there also.Faber has to be put in this group too

  6. I don't think it helped or hurt him.

In my mind, GSP was/is already in the top 5 best p4p fighters in the world today.

I am really excited about the proposed GSP vs BJ Penn fight. In my mind, that is probably the matchup that will come closer to deciding p4p the best.

The only other 2 that I think can seriously be considered as p4p are Fedor and Anderson Silva. They are both so different in weight, that they will never face off.

This could be the greatest fight in MMA history.

  7. Yes he dominated tonight.  He is certainly one of the best pound for pound fighters, up there with Anderson Silva.  Matt Hughes beat BJ Penn, who in GSP's division is going to touch him ?

  8. yeah it does, he was already one of the best pound for pound besides Anderson Silva, Bj Penn, Yuriah Faber, and Fedor, so I think that with his great performance yesterday beating a game John Fitch that he has helped his cause even more. Looking forward to GSP vs Bj Penn sometime early next year.

  9. He is toward the top, but this didn't help his cause.

    My top 5 p/p are

    1. Miguel Torres

    2. Fedor

    3. Anderson Silva

    4. BJ Penn

    5. GSP

In MMA it is really tough to say who is the best P/P because there are not that many fights among all of the great fighters.  So a win or two or loss or two here or there really moves you up or down the list.  It wasn't that long ago there was one fighter that many had toward the top and now  two years later heisn't even on the list anywhere.

That being said if I had to pick one guy to win a fight and I didn't know who he was fighting and he had to win.  I would pick BJ Penn.

  10. pound for pound is secondary to BEST fighter..

i dont give a rats *** about pfp.

  11. GSP now has one title defense under his belt. Until he dominates for a couple defenses he won't move up. BJ Pen is the guy who has challenged him the most and he is a light weight so BJ will probably always out rank him in the P4P area. Unless GSP dominates him. Even then it is unlikely because it is P4P not most dominate.
