Does Gateway Games give your computer spyware/viruses?

I was wondering if by downloading a Gateway Game, your computer could get a virus or spyware. I have CA Antivirus

Well there is always a risk, but if you save the game to you desktop and right click and scan with you virus scanner, it would catch it.  then you can install it, but even still if you don't read the prompts carefully you will end up installing a bunch of toolbars and search thing's aka junk.
