  1. Every industrialized nation in the world, except the United States, has some form of universal health coverage. So you bet it works well.

  2. []

  3. d

  4. I don't know about Germany, I haven't known anyone that lived there... But for France and the Netherlands... Their socialized medicine is spectacular...

My aunt was going to move from Amsterdam to Paris and ONE WEEK before she was to leave the Netherlands, she was diagnosed with a really bad form of cancer...

Her employer delayed the paperwork and she was in hospital for MONTHS recovering... If she had been in the US, she would have either have died or have gone bankrupt... THEY EVEN PAID FOR HER RIDE BACK TO HER APARTMENT to recover at home.

When she moved to Paris, she was diagnosed with osteoporosis and the medicine she was put on costs her $300+ a month in the US... Because it had caused back problems, she was "Prescribed" therapeutic massage because preventative medicine means that she didn't need back surgery...

When her doctor found out she was moving back to the US, he told her that she was HIS for the next 2 weeks to get EVERY TEST he coudl think of done because if it wasn't diagnosed in France, it would kill her in the US because she was moving back without a job already lined up.

They didn't find anything wrong with her but they were only able to send her off with 3 months of her super expensive medication... When she got back to the US she had to spend her savings to buy her med's and she wanted to get established with a doctor to make sure she would be able to get future prescriptions for the meds she KNEW SHE NEEDED and that doctor made her do all the tests over again, out of pocket, because he said that French Doctors are not "Real" doctors and you can't trust a doctor from a Socialized Medicine Country ebcause they are just under paid ninnies...

The distorted perceptions of socialized medicine are based on BULLSHIT... Not in fact... because I have a perfect example of my own and she knows dozens of others that had their lives saved because their problems were diagnosed BEFORE they left a Socialized Medicine country...

And I sit here now, needing a hip replacement since the age of 11... Unable to pay for ANY form of orthopedic care...

I sit here now, suffering from mental illness... unable to pay for ANY form of therapy and am only on med's because I found a clinic that helped me fill out the paperwork to get them free from the manufacturer...

I DREAM of a day when I can get a prescription based on what I NEED and not what I can get for free!!!

You don't understand what our lack of health care means until you need it... and by then your fu*ked...

    Healthy people work harder...

People that work hard make more money...

People that make more money pay more taxes...

Which rounds out the circle of life!

Yeah, taxes may go up in the short term, but not having to go bankrupt because you get cancer or in a car accident is what you NEED to be thinking about!!
