Galatians 6:7 (kjv)

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

it sounds a little vengeful, isn't ?

  1. Look God gives you the choice:

Free will, believe in me or I will set you on fire... FOREVER!!!

  2. Im not sure how that sounds vengeful. You reap what you sow.. therefore simply just consequences for actions.

  3. Where is forgive and forget in that verse and why are you trying to link something that obviously does not apply?

He is saying that what you do will effect what happens in this world.

God says he will forgive and forget our offenses and not hold it against us, he does not say we will not suffer the consequences for our actions in this world. If you commit murder and ask for forgiveness you will be forgiven, you will still go to jail or face the death penalty.

  4. It's called justice.

  5. Vengence is mine saith the Lord...

He's simply telling them that they will get back what they have dished out to Him...

  6. Yes, of course eternal torture would be the trademark of a forgiving God...

  7. That verse simply states that we get what we give.I find that to be very true.Has nothing to do with the forgiveness that god gives us.I think God hit the nail on the head when he told us that we will reap what we sow.Bad things happen to deceived people when they get themselves in to bad situations.

  8. You want to know where the hypocrisies of xtians come from?  Look no further than their so-called God.  He breaks everyone of his own rules.  Thats why they call him "Father": Do as I say, not as I do.

  9. No.  It is a reminder that grace is not a license to sin.  We still have the promise of 1 John 1:9.

Scripture interpretation requires treating these ideas as answers to questions (in my opinion).  This verse answers the question, "After grace, then what--shall we continue in sin?"
