This is NOT a debate between athiests and thiests. This is a philosophical question based on the assumption that God exists and created us. Religion aside, how do we know he loves us? How do we know he doesnt hate us? The best thing I can come up with is why bother creating something you hate? I dont want arguements that God hates us. Just that he loves us. Thanks!

  1. ...the bible tells me so...

...GOD is in all his creations...stop look, listen, and you will feel, and receive the power of his love...

    ...thanks for asking...

  2. i am not religious, so I don't know much but I heard that people were born evil or something some kid that is christian told me that

  3. yes , yes , yes. But the question should be do we love God? U will say ok then why there r people suffering, i tell u it is a process of mere reincarnation "what u do is returned back 2 u" from life to life. that does not mean that the people who suffer r bad and who do not r good. Some people r repaid in this  deing world, some in the other eternal world. God has nothing to do with our suffering, everything is because of our deeds, our work. God is high above all this. the creation u can picture it as a test of DO WE LOVE GOD? r we trying to find the way to return back to him or r we hiding and trying to run away?!

  4. If you leave religion aside, you DON'T know.

Let's draw a parallel.  Suppose your parents told you that they were not actually your real parents.  Someone else out there was your biological mother and father.  And to top things off, your parents can attest to the fast that these mystery biological parents do, in fact, know exactly where you are and what you are up to but have just chosen to never ever contact you or influence your life in any observable way.  How would you know whether these figures loved you?

To answer that we have to get to the nature of love, perhaps.  Aristotle and others saw it as a kind of good... a good so full that it had to share itself and spread out (he called this concept the 'self effusiveness of good').  A truly good person would HAVE to be good to others or they aren't really good.  Most people seem to think of love as this kind of a good thing.

This would mean that if those mystery parents really loved you they would HAVE to be influencing your life in a positive way.  They would be compelled to communicate with you in the most positive way, to provide whatever positive resources for you that they could, and otherwise have the greatest possible good effect on you that they could.

Now, for a human, it is possible to imagine how the most positive contact is no contact at all.  Many parents DO opt themselves out of their childrens' lives for exactly this reason.  They believe themselves to be corrupting and destructive, so being away is the best they can do.

A god is another matter though.  Most people's conceptions of a god could vastly improve your life with a trivial expenditure of effort.  It could easily communicate with you in such a way as to know without a fragment of doubt that it loved you and wanted what was best for you.  And for most people, the notion that the best a god could do is just be gone is ridiculous.

The very fact that you have to ask this question demonstrates that you are not dealing with this kind of a god.  If there is one there, it is incapable of communicating with you for some reason (some religious apologist suggest this might compromise your free will) or that it is not really too involved with the particulars of your life.  It can't, or it won't.  Take your pick.

  5. 'Every child that is born comes with the message that God has not yet given up on the human race' - RabindranathTagore. You're right, why bother creating something you hate ? It simply doesn't make sense, does it ! I tell you what, do a simple experiment. Go and scold your best friend, pick a quarrel with him or her, and he or she will stop seeing you, stop talking to you, ignore you and you will have lost a friend. But go and scold God, say the worst things you can about Him, curse Him, swear at Him And still He will give you food, water, clothing and shelter. He will still give you rain and sunshine. Take a single step towards Him and he will take a thousand steps towards you. Just you try it out and see for yourself. You don't have to do it. You already know the answer. He loves you, He yearns for you to love Him too. You must have seen a mother's love for her child. Imagine that love a thousand-fold and it still won't compare with God's love. He resides in your heart, waiting, ever ready to love you, to talk with you, to play with you, to hear you sing to Him, to simply be your friend, not only your Savior. You know, I don't believe in a God of reward and punishment, of Father who art in Heaven. Rather I believe in God as the truest friend who is forever with me, who is ever prepared to forgive me, to accept me for whatever I am, no matter what religion I practise. I believe that He has put His divine laws in place and that reward and punishment are simply the natural consequences of one's compliance or breach of those laws. No need to blame God when things go wrong. You touch fire, it burns. What has God got to do with it ? Do you know that when the fire has burned you, it is God that heals you, even if you haven't even heard of Him ? So you tell me, does God love us ?

  6. We have the capability to experience life in any way. We can think it h**l or heaven and to us it will be.

As we find it and ourselves loving and merciful, we discover how God made it.

  7. god loves evey body. And you and me.Had you ever hear this.So god so love the earth he give his only forgoting son to.So we he all go to heave with him. I am 14.and yeah I know that.E-Mail me at corbanharrod

  8. I think that the Supreme Being (call it God, Krishna, Yahweh, Allah, Zeus, I don't care) created the Universe and then stepped back to see how it would evolve (yes, the dreaded "E" word) without further interference.

I don't think the Supreme Being is not particularly concerned with us other than as random results of the evolutionary process.

  9. Of course he loves us. With a love that nobody is able to produce anymore. What parent could sacrifice his own child for others sins,  to save their souls from eternal damnation? What bigger proof that He loves us could there be?

  10. God is perfection, He cannot do or be anything but perfect,  nothing that is not God like, is not of God.

God does not create everything but nothing is created without God.

Man cannot be more then man without God, just why we must have faith to survive for we cannot see God we can only know God through our personal experience with His Spirit in mind. We survive by faith, we ascend by our acts.

  11. yes i gotta agree the purpose for our creation is to share in god's joy and he wont want someone he hates to share in his joy i certainly wont

There also Christianity to ot cos if he hated us he wouldn't have sent Jesus his only son to bear our burden and die for our sins
