Not apart from Him or before Him, just other (lesser) things in addition to Him.

  1. desire is ok

lust, covet or have a desire more then for Him.

  2. No. HE wants our total submission. However, HE will provide the things we may want, but, HE will provide what we NEED!

    GOD bless

  3. Ok, if he doesn't want me to want anything else other than him, then, why does he make me drive by that Mercedes Benz dealership every day on my way to my job as a greeter at Wal Mart, huh?

  4. not to the point of lusting, coveting, or idoling. if that makes sense.

  5. yes. God exist but we as human, should enrich ourself first before questioning again the path leading to him. We are not in the stage yet to ask anything godly. So we should desire things other than him right now.

  6. Matthew 6:25-34 gives the Christian a very good guideline on what we should desire.  Please bear in mind that this Scripture does not tell not to want things.

It simply means not to worry (be excessively preoccupied) about gaining great material wealth.  If we put God first in our obedience and service, He will see we have what we need.

  7. Psalm 24.1

The earth is the LORD's, and everything in it,

           the world, and all who live in it;

    1 Cor. 3.21,22

    .........All things are yours,

Whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future—all are yours,

    1 Corinthians 10:23

All things are lawful for me, but not all things are helpful; all things are lawful for me, but not all things edify.

    Psalm 37:4

Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart.

    Mark 11:24

Therefore I tell you, "whatever" you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

    John 15:7

If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask "whatever" you wish, and it will be given you.

    John 15:16

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you "whatever" you ask in my name.

    John 16:23

In that day you will no longer ask me anything. I tell you the truth, my Father will give you "whatever" you ask in my name.

    Romans 8:32

He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us "all" things?

There's even more but I'll stop now.

    God is pretty cool huh?

  8. By his own admission he is a jealous god. And very selfish to.

  9. Yes, God wants you to desire for certain things, but if you want them then you have to have ask him for it and then have the faith that he will give it to you.  But he will supply you what you need to survive as a human. He also, wants us to have him in our lives and to desire him. We all want more than what we need.  What a lot of people don't realize is that God is real, came here to save us from our sins.  Unfortunately, we haven't learned to stop sinning. We are to live like the Bible says, he gave us a choice. We all need to pray for what we have and thank him for the food, clothes, roofs over our heads, the cars that we have.  Yes, a lot of us is living poorly, but that is because we want more than we need.

  10. No. He is too jealous and too much of an ego maniac.

  11. No. God doesn't exist.

  12. Yes.

    Necessities.

  13. NO GOD IS FAKE

  14. Obviously or we wouldn't have these cravings. God made Adam and Eve and they were their own peson and when they went against him he was angry until he realised that they were human. God is perfect and humans aren't so due to that imperfection we desire material things. :-)

  15. God wants us to love each other and the things around us. that can be from your family to a passion for art. If you have a passion for doing things like that and will praise him no matter what while you do that then i would say yes he does want us to have a desire for things

  16. That's why there is hot Japanese girls....

  17. So long as you keep your priorities then desiring certain things is fine. Just don't let yourself be fooled into thinking that A) it will make you happy maybe satisfied would be a better word; b) you won't be happy, satisfied, unless you have it.
