Does Goodwill or Salvation Army give you any type of credit to use in their stores when you donate clothes?

I have tons of clothes that no longer fit me that I've had for over 5 years, and could use new clothes. I'm just really short on cash as I'm in the process of moving. Do they give you store credit when you donate clothes?

  1. If you ask they do. Otherwise you just get a receipt for a tax write off.
