  1. As for Gunnar being a nice guy, if some  of you werent crazy, he may have gotten to know you and you would of found out exactly how nice he is. He's a great guy and maybe some of you should follow his example by learning to treat people with respect. If he doesn't talk to you ,it's probably because he can tell right off the bat that you would be the kind of person to be on a message board, trashing him without getting to know him. As for the last comment, get a life. The man more than likely doesnt even know that you exist, or he does and knows that you are crazy. You KNOW I'm right either way.

  2. He's one h**l of a lover!

  3. I consider him a friend and he has never used me in any way.  With so many fans and people surrounding him, I'm sure it is hard to decide who to befriend.  You are certainly not one he has picked as friend material.  I can certainly understand why, with the nasty attitude you have.  If I didn't know for myself what a wonderful guy Gunnar is, I'd say you might be right.  Usually people of low class can spot people of their own kind, but you are wrong in this case.

  4. Gunnar Nelson is as fake as they come.  He's not a geniune person and uses people only if it benefits him.  The Nelson family USED to be classy until Gunnar ruined the name for them

  5. Assessors are notoriously wrong: they base the age of a house on the average age of the houses in the neighborhood. I have city records, bills of sale, and blueprints, and photographs from my house proving it was built in 1870, but the assessment says 1930 because the neighborhood was private and no new construction was allowed from the late 1890's until the late 1920's, and then the population exploded. If that is his house, anybody with even a basic knowledge of architecture can tell it is high victorian, and NOT 1920's. Building a house like that in the 20's would be like building something that looks like the brady bunch house today.

  6. Stating the kind of piano he's gotten does not make him a snob. That is the musician in him.  Music is his life and his love. He gets excited talking about anything that has to do with music.  He is one of the most down to earth people I know.  Often the snobs are the jealous people who get upset about what others have. If he lived in a swank neighborhood, you would be putting him down for that too.  He is a nice guy.

  7. Why are you so persistent in reanwering questions over questions?
In his blog from 5.5.03 (then he lived in that house six months) where he says  he lives in a "gothic Victorian house built in 1889." If you don't believe me, then check the assessors appraisal: year built 1925! And, by the way, his next door neighbor's house was just sold a few weeks ago.
And, the the other poster below claiming he's "not snob" Yes he is. One does not brag about their favorite things as he did his "schimmel baby grand piano." Rather just say, yes you have a piano. Or you have a blue, green, white car. Don't be a braggart.

  8. According to this, his house was built in 1889, not 1925.

  9. Gunnar, by his own admission in letters he posted, was way over his head in debt after over spending at the height of their popularity.  His lawyer suggested filing bankruptcy.  He refused, and instead sold his fancy cars, cut his spending and paid off all his debts.  I think that says plenty about his character.  He loves people and prefers a blue color neighborhood. He is not a snob. He does not consider himself better than anyone else.  Give him some credit when it is due.

  10. In december , 2002 he bought the house for exactly 215,000 (mortgaged) and by the way Lauren was a senior in high school. A girlfriend at the time (Trina)who told him of a contractor, who was disreptuable, she told him about Directbuy, becuse he said that without that he would not be able to renovate his house, because he was  "in the hole." Trina's long gone, married to someone else and a then high school girl is living in his house. He's a womanizer of the highest degree!

  11. Actually the house cost him over $200,000 plus the cost of all the renovations he did. I don't know about the rest of you but that is no small chunk of change.

  12. No one is "worshipping" him. There are "victorian houses" in every town. His "victorian house" was built in 1925 and is 2,000 square feet. It is in a lower income neighborhood with a neighbor of his has a reclining chair on the front lawn!

  13. You know...this idol worship of Gunnar is ridiculous.  One of the things I've always respected about him and his whole family in general, is that they are hard-working people.  They (were) are not royalty.  They have never acted as if they are "too good" for anybody or anything.  Many people have held them dear and want the best for them but they were and are normal people.  So what if he lives in a "blue collar" neighborhood?  Unless you live in Nashville and specifically know the crime statistics of each neighborhood, you don't really have any say in the matter.  Frankly, a refurbished Victorian sounds pretty cool, if you ask me.

Gunnar is not some greek god who should live in a castle in the South of France.  What kind of fairy-tale image do you people have of him? Let the man be human!

  14. In a very risky lower income neighborhood

  15. In a very risky lower income neighborhood

  16. I'm surprised to see  Gunnar living in a neighborhood like that, even though he renovated the interiorand with state-of-the-art appliances several years ago. It is out of place.  One would expect him to live in an upscale neighborhood.

  17. See a picture of Gunnar's house.  www.virtualglobetrotting.com/pic/4934/ - 27k

  18. Geez, who cares if it's a "blue collar" neighborhood?!

  19. No. Gunnar only lives in Nashville. In blue collar neighborhood.

  20. both houses in modest, working clas neighborhoods.

  21. Both places. Gunnar travels back and forth for years. He has a modest  house in Granada Hills
