I'm looking at buying a Samsung LA19R71BX 48cm LCD TV. It doesn't say whether it is 720p, 1080i, or 1080p, it just says HD Ready. What does this mean?

  1. This means that there is going to be a setting on the actual T.V.  You will be able to change the picture from HD, to just the normal signal.

  2. You should get 1080i, The picture is much better than 720p or 1080p. You will have much better HD

  3. Your TV is High-Def, but it does not have a digital tuner.  You will need a special box to receive digital broadcast stations.  But you will be able to use anything with an HDMI output, such as an upconverting DVD player or Blu-Ray.

Your screen is big enough to display 720p or 1080i, but not 1080p.  (The other poster who said that 1080i is better than 1080p is incorrect.) But it doesn't really matter.  The screen isn't big enough that any normal human could tell the difference between 720p and 1080 anyway.

  4. yup,hd baby
