Does HD make a difference when watching cartoons?

Say I watch Family Guy tonight, will there be much of a difference between HD and SD?

  1. YES! I watch Cartoon network with my 2 year old and it makes a huge difference. Much easier on the eyes too.

  3. Probably not.  I'd be surprised if you noticed anything.

    For live stuff, HD gives you more definition and resolution, but animation is at a fixed level anyway, so I'd be surprised if you got anything out of Family Guy.  A studio could go all the way with something like Monsters Inc., but the animation on Family Guy is so basic anyway, you're not going to see any difference.  You'd get more bang for your buck by improving your sound/audio environment.  That's not to say that HD isn't worth it, just that Family Guy (or South Park, or whatever) isn't  going to be radically improved, if at all, by HD.
