Does HD radio get good reception from your home?

  1. The HD radio signal is digital so you only need a little bit of signal to get the stations, but the power is generally lower than a traditional radio signal.

    So you will still need an antenna but I have been able to pick up HD signals better than analog with my HD receiver.


  2. The short and direct answer to your question is:   Yes, and No.

    But to explain a little -- Yes for those stations that are more or less nearby, especially if not living in a building with a lot of steel in it.

    No for stations too far away, and generally No in my basement.

    Reception can be greatly improved by using an antenna, either the plain old T-type antenna, rabbit ears, or something fancier.

  3. I got  a good signal just from  my local stations, but my Bose system sounds better and its not HD!!
