Provide more details and you will get a more precise OPINION than, HDMI mongers who will say that digital is digital and digital is better, with no data to support there wild claims.

I suggest that you try both and see what you like vs. having someone else tell you what you like.

HDMI is just a funnel for the source. It doesnt increase or decrease the picture(or audio) but provides you an easier way to connect HD equipment.

I would agree that its the best connection to get right now and is the connection you want if you want to achieve 1080P. Most HD source currently are either 720P or 1080i. Hope this helps.

The better the cable the better the signal.  However, it doesn't automatically correlate that the more expensive cable is the best one to buy.  Check the specs and shop around for the best price.

I'm not sure what you are really asking.

Increase relative to what?

Obviously HDMI can't increase quality per se. It can help maintain quality that is already present.

HDMI will give a better picture than composite or S-video. It will probably give a better picture than component.

Once HDCP and ICT are implemented HDMI (or Displayport) will be the only choice for HD video since any analog connection will be limited to sub-HD resolution.

HDMI is limited to about 100 ft over high quality cable. Lower quality will fail at much shorter distance.

That said, HDMI's main advantage is convenience ... one cable can carry both HD video and multichannel audio.

yes, it is the highest quality cable on the market right now.......and there is no difference between a 3 dollar and a 50 dollar one because they are digital.
