Does Hi-C have a lot of sugar in it? And if so, would it have affected the results of my one hour glucose test? I drank it on the way to the doctor's office that morning. Now I have to go back for the three hour test. I was never told to fast, otherwise I would have. I also had a BK breakfast.

  1. Girlfriend...YES...lots and lots of it too. My doc told me not to eat anything atleast 6 hours prior and my appt was at 4. So...for B/F i only had one egg and small glass of milk and well I had to be tough and hold my hunger till 5!!! I passed with a 102. Well good luck!!!!

  2. yep.  The 3 hr is a lot harder to keep down.  How high was it?  Over 200?

  3. it probably didn't help.  my 1 hour test came back high and I blame it on the munchkin I ate prior to it.  I had to suffer through the 3 hour test, which was totally fine.  either that or the tolerance on the 1 hour test is low.

  4. yes this will effect your test results.  they should have asked you not to eat or drink anything but water for at least 2 hours before drink the glu-cola and and have your blood drawn 1 hour after drinking the drink.  if they have not instructed you to fast for your 3 hour test call your doctor and ask them when you should stop eating and drinking.

  5. I juice box of Hi-C has 26grams of sugar. That is a lot of sugar!!! It would absolutely effect your glucose test if you drank it then drank the sugary drink they provide you.

I would inform your doctor of this and see if perhaps you can just redo the one hour.
