Im only doing it for a year because i cant find a place to study.

Anyway, can i teach my self at home?

Im 15 going on 16. So cant i teach my self using books and other rescources?

Oh and if i get stuck i can hire a tutor for a few lessons.

Is that ok?

Plus i want to do my gcse's this june so im going to apply for the examinations as a private candidate.

  1. Well it looks like you areso determined and i guess you canmake it. Hope you dont get destructed...all you need now is proper equipment where necessary and a backup tutor just incase...

  2. You can always try Keystone National High School

I love them.. and it really depends.. why don't u order a course (like an extra activity or something) like Photography maybe.. anyways and see how u like it.. and then it u really like it join!:D

& if u have a Facebook there's this whole group we have which is awesome and everyone's REALLY nice.. so u can just add us and we'll accept and if u need anything else feel free to ask me!

  3. No you don't need a tutor and yes you can do it!! Most homeschoolers don't use tutors.. In fact  I don't know of any that do!!!  Find a home-school group in your area also!! Either with a self guided curriculum or you can do an online version. Check into them and good luck!!!!!!

  4. Most homeschoolers don't use tutors, unless it is for a subject that their parents are not able to teach them or they cannot learn it on their own.  Honestly, even for those, there are DVD-based curriculums that allow you to learn on your own.

You should be fine - you sound very motivated and able to keep yourself accountable.  Good luck!

  5. Our age of technology makes tutoring a non-issue for our family.  We can get our information from books, dvd's and from online and learn as much as we want to learn.  I use the term 'tutoring' for my time in checking work, discussing and assigning work for our homeschooled son.

You are a self-learner. We are all self learners.  No one learns anything that they do not want to learn.  The best 'teachers' are those who know how to inspire and help a student achieve the student's goals and to be 'all that  they can be'.  Parents want that for their children in all learning environments.

  6. It depends from person to person. If you feel that you are capable of learning everything yourself, than you may not need any help.

If, however, you get stuck too often and are unable to find answers to problems, or if you are unable to understand what you're reading... get a tutor.

Myself, I always preferred self-education to a teacher or tutor.
