Does Honda have a flaw in the 1996 Honda Accord? A Malfunction?

I heard after a certain amount of miles (for example lets say 100,000 miles) that the Honda Accord 96-97 (I have an 96 LX) starts to burn more oil than usual, and Honda has allowed free oil changes to 1996 Accords ONLY. Do any of you know anything about this? Are the free oil changes true?

The optional V6 is a lemon.. The 4-cylinder, however is bullet proof.
