Actually everyones wrong except for some.  In fact they are pretty much the same car.  Acura's are just an American made edition of Honda's.

Honda's are just a Japanese made edition of Acura's.

They are pretty much just a shared company sharing ideas.

Examples:  Honda Integera as for Acura Integera, and same with the NSX

Yes, Honda was the 1st Japanese manufacturer to make a premium brand.

Acura's are luxury versions of Honda's.

Lexus are luxury versions of Toyota's.

Infiniti's are luxury versions of Nissan's.

Audi's are luxury versions of Volkswagens.

Acura TL=Honda Accord.

Acura TSX(newer version of Integra sedan)=Honda Civic

Acura's have the same engines and chassis, but the Acura engines are tuned to give more power. Europe does not have Acura, that is why I said in Europe only for the Honda Legend.

maybe acura makes honda????    they are what is called a sister company.  like ford/mercury/lincon.   GM brands.

and just because the engines will swap out, doesnt mean they make each other. just means they used the same engine brand.

like DODGE, they have been using mitsubishi motors for years.

Honda Motors of Japan owns & operates Acura.  It is the American-based, luxury car division of Honda's USDM, automotive operations.  Acura designs also come out of Torrance, CA.  

Honda/Acura share a lot of manufacturing & production line elements for economies of scale, such as similar vehicle chassis/platorms, as well as sharing various engines & drivetrains.  For example, the Acura TL is made on the same Ohio assembly line as the Honda Accord.  The Honda J35 V6 motor is found in the Accord,Odyssy, Pilot, Ridgeline, as well as in the TL (Type S), and in the last versions of the RL & MDX.  And it follows too that many parts are interchangeable between the two brands/badgings.
