Does Hoover Dam have public tours on the inside? I would REALLY like to see the inside of the diversion tunnels, if we're allowed.

  1. The only way you can go down into the dam is on a tour. You can not just travel through it yourself. It is pretty cool and you will enjoy it.

  2. I visited about 2 years ago and they had just began letting visitors below.  I don't think it's as involved as pre 9/11 tours, but you can see the turbines and a few other things.

Get your info from the source.

  4. Yes.  They sell tickers right there.  You go down an elevator and get to see the generators and everything.  Have a good time.

  5. Yes, there are public tours available.  I have been before, and it was pretty fun.  There's a bunch of chipmunks on the outside where it's just rocks, it's pretty fun to watch them.  But yea, the dam itself is incredible as well.  I'm sure you'd enjoy it if you get the chance to go.

  6. yes, I did that tour a few yrs back, its rather comical, the guide jokes about the d**n tour, and do you have any more d**n questions, it was a fun and interesting tour, and I did hear they are doing them again after 9-11.

  7. yea, you gotta pay though
