Does India have success stories, besides Laxmi Mittal?

Need this urgently...give me names of any one indian person who has beaten the odds and made it in life, only because he/she never gave up? Not dhirubhai/mother teresa/ etc.

ok I have some names,

Dr Amar Bose , founder of Bose Corporation, Mr Sabeer Bhatia founder of the famous hotmail: world's first universal  check your email from any pc/ any location email system,Dr Deepak Chopra, Dr Sanjay Gupta CNN,Film Director M. Night Shyamalan etc, you can just pull so many morenames from Google.

Mr Mukesh Ambani? He's the head of Reliance Industries or sth. I don't know about his background, but I do know the Dalai Lama is sorta... Tibetan? Like in China? Although he doesn't live there anymore. Well if Mukesh Ambani can't do, yes, Mahatma Ghandi would be good. :).
