  1. you only need to keep your P60 for 5 years so if you are trying to claim any tax back you have no chance, they will only have a record for 5years too

  2. No. Inland Revenue doesn't issue P60 and your employer is required by law to issue it only once.

  3. No, HMRC doesn't have copies of forms P60, but may have of form P14, the top copy. However these days the forms are kept in selected offices, and local staff can't get hold of them. Due to storage space problems, I don't even know how long they are kept for these days. The pay and tax figures should have been entered on the computer record HMRC has for you, but once six years have passed, the information is automatically wiped off. HMRC can send you a signed letter on headed paper, but can give pay and tax details only. Other information isn't kept, although the National Insurance Office at Newcastle may be able to give NIC contribution amounts.

I think employers are obliged to keep PAYE records for only three years, although some may keep them longer. Employer may be able to supply at least some of information required.

The difficulty in reconstructing is why it is so important to keep form P60s in a safe place.

  4. No, because they don't issue them. It's the employers responsibility. Employers, however, do send an annual return to the Inland Revenue setting out employee earnings and the Tax/NI deducted. They may provide you with the figures. You could also try your employer for those years.

  5. No and your employer is not allowed t but he may and only may tell you what was on it. i do not think he is obliged to.

  6. No, but they will write a letter to you setting out your pay and tax for each year. But they will only have records back to 2001-2

  7. No they wont replace them im sure tht when I lost mine and tried to get a copy they told me they couldnt reissue and to try asking my employer if they havd a hard copy sorry

  8. no soz
