  1. not worth it because glass is probably going to be in the deductible amount.

  2. One of my friend asked me a  similiar question before,we found helpful luck here.http://carinsurance.expertsupport.info/a...

  3. $500 deductable means that you pay the first $500 dollars on each claim that you make. In other words you pay the first $500 dollars on your windsheild or other window this week and next week when you have an accident you pay another $500 dollars first for fixing the car. and so on and so on.

Oh yaaa  I forgot when you make a claim the cost of your insurance will go up.

  4. No, not usually. The deductible is your out of pocket expense regardless of the loss. So if it's only 100 dollars to replace your windshield and the deductible is 500 it would be better to not go through the insurance. In order to make a claim, it has to be over the amount of the deductible. But, I would check with the glass shop and let them know what Insurance Company that your with and sometimes they'll work with your deductible or give you a better deal.

  5. Check to see if you've got full glass option - I do - requies no deductible for glass.  Have had it from both General Accident and Progressive Insurance companies.

  6. It depends on how it broke and what insurance you have.

If you only have liability, then no.

If you have collision insurance and the glass was broken by a collision, then yes, otherwise no.

If you have comprehensive, and it was broken by a rock, vandalized, etc, then yes.  If you broke the glass, then no.

And as the others have answered, it probably cheaper to just go and replace the glass on your own.  It should be under $500.

I quoted a 2002 honda civic front windshield from safelite.com and came out $177.95 including labor.

  7. if the glass is more than $500.. you pay the 1st 500 dollars that's what a deduct able is...

  8. Probably but you pay the first $500 and they cover the rest. How much is it? Looks like you are out the dough.

  9. Technically, yes.  However, the repair cost will likely be less than $500.  In that case, you will be responsible for the repair.

  10. It typically does, but I think you can get a replacement windhshield for less than $500.
