Yes, it did, and, as other people stated, if you want to continue the story you can read the manga. This is the best spot to view the manga in english, since it is not available in english, "http://freelance-manga.com/". Remember that japanese Manga are read right to left, opposite to the direction of english "manga" or comic books; also I believe that the aname left off at manga chapter 356 volume 36 (there are 10 chapters in a volume).

And I have read it that far also I dont think there is because I havent seen any other books but if you watch the tv version it has the whole story also they have 4 movies to it so i dont know =)

yes, there are only 167 episodes. the series ended rather abruptly because the audience was losing interest. there are, however, 4 other movies (that are side stories and don't have much to do with the main plot line) and an OVA is coming out soon. if you're really unhappy with the ending of the anime, you could always try picking up the manga. it was recently completely, so you don't have to worry about a bad ending.

yes, the anime left off at episode 167. but not because it was losing ratings yes they dropped but the inuyasha anime was stopped because the anime caught up to the manga and instead of using filler episodes in which they felt they would lose there fan base they stoped the series........... they do find naraku and defeat him as well as sango and miroku get married and have 3 children, kagome stays with inuyahsa in the last chapter in the manga..........if u would like to continue on from where the anime left off chapter 357 of the manga is where u should start........a inuyasha short called "Black Tetsusaiga" was shown at the exhibit "Rumic World" not too long ago which was the first time the original cast and crew have been together since the 4th inuyasha movie like me im sure all of you hope they finish off the anime

Yes, it does. It got cancelled due to declining ratings.

But the manga continued until recently, when it wrapped everything up.
