  2. To the person above, Scotland competes as part of England. The Irish are competing in boxing, swimming, equestrian, rowing, track and field, sailing and cycling. There rowing team and a few boxers actually did OK in the semi-finals.

  3. @ I'm better than you

Team GB = Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland

We are British and most of us are happy to be so

(and if you didn't notice I'm from Scotland)

    @ Dodgergirle55

England does not = Britain, Britain is the island that Scotland, Wales and England are on

  4. Yes they do, but not in many events. Some small countries only enter in one event! But yes, they are definitely there. I wish they were in more, I Love The Irish! Have a good day, Nat :)

  5. Yeah saw them in the opening. But I didn't see Scotland . . .

  6. Of course they are! They are actually going well in the boxing and the track and field guys have a few european champions so keep an eye out!

    There you go. =]

  9. Yes they do. Their population is only about 4.5million so they don't have loads of athletes.

Dodgergirl: Scotland is part of England? I think you should start studying your atlas- actually with knowledge like that I bet you don't own one. Shocking geography!!!

  10. Of course they do, why wouldnt they?

  11. yes they are competing

  12. The people of Ireland are winning many medals - as members of other nations' Olympic teams. Without the Irish, most of the western nations would be nowhere. Just like without the Africans, the USA track and field would be eating rubber.

  13. Yea, I saw them on the opening ceremony, too.

  14. That's funny I was just asking that same question last night! I searched the web and if you type in Ireland Olympics the Wikipedia site has a whole lot of info on Ireland's participation in the Olympics. It looks like Ireland has been participating in the summer olympics since 1924 and in the winter olympics since 1992. So far they have not won any medals this year, but they are participating.

  15. Yeah they do, I saw them int he opening ceremony.

  16. Yes
