Also, i am very happy only two people wrongly called it Gaelic.

also because the british controlled ireland or 800 years they tried to cut irish out of the country

but the language is becoming more popular in recent time. there are lots of gaelscoil (schools where u only speak irish) and its compusory to learn in schools)

Irish is called Gaeilge in Irish, and is sometimes referred to as Gaelic around the world.

There is three types of Irish dialects spoken Munster, Connacht and Ulster.

Connacht dialects can be found in Connemara and the Aran Islands.

Munster Irish can be found in the Kerry Gaeltacht

and Ulster Irish can be found on Tory Island.

  14. Yes, it is Irish or Gaeilge. It is the first official language of Ireland and is one of the first written languages ever recorded. It is a Celtic language, specifically of the Q-Celt family. There are approx 1million Irish-speakers or 'Gaeligeoiri' in Ireland today. It greatly declined in the 17th and 18h centuries when the British Government made the speaking of Irish illegal. It is my first language and I could not be more proud of it. Gaeilge go brach!

  15. Ireland was originally all english. After partition in 1921, some in southern Ireland  speak Irish but most despite their anti english attitude speak english, write english, read english. Its a strange country down south. Northern Ireland being British means its all english thoroughly.
