  1. At my vet, it costs $108 to get a female spayed.  It costs $60 to get a male neutered.  I thought both of those were high, so we went to a spay/neuter clinic and it is $37 for females and $22 for males.  It is the same price to get a cat declawed, regardless of s*x.  Again, at my vet (which may be higher, lower, or average compared to other vets, I don't know) it is $110 to declaw 2 paws and $140 to declaw all of them.

I recommend you waiting on deciding the declawing.  Growing up, we always declawed our cats.  When I was in college, I got a calico and we had her declawed and she had awful scabs on the pads of her feet.  We had to give her antibiotics, which was not easy (she's not a super loving cat).  Her feet still bother her.  She doesn't let anyone touch them, and she holds one up when she isn't walking on it.  I'm not trying to preach to you like some people do, I'm just giving my personal experience.  My mom kept her when I got married, and I have gotten 2 cats.  I didn't get them declawed and honestly, about 7 months old, they calm down and I haven't had any problems.  The only real problem I did have was one would jump against the wall and slide down with his claws out, scratching the wall.  He's grown out of that.  They haven't scratched my furniture.

I'd say just give it some thought, maybe do a little research on declawing.   I have heard (I don't know if my vet does it) but there is a new way to "declaw."  It isn't actually removing the nail, but they cut the tendon, or ligament, and it makes the cat unable to put it's claws out.  Again, I don't know much about that, I just read it online once.

    Good luck

  2. if you are receipt of benefits the feline society or rspca will help towards the cost, in my area in uk it costs about £30.

  3. its probably cheaper for a male cat and it changes  the females moods my cat turned really vicious after the op to the point where we had to get rid of her she would bite us and scratch us all the time when we went near her.

  4. It is more expensive for a female cat to get spayed.  If you are planning on doing both spaying and declawing, I would suggest having it done at the same time.  It will bring the cost down slightly because of only having to put the cat under once.  The cost of declawing is the same for both male and female cats.  You may also want to call around for pricing at the different vets in your area.  There can be a rather large price difference.

  5. it can cost more more to have a female cat spayed alot of times they are already in heat or pregnant so it will cost more, also the sooner u get male cat fixed the better once they begin to spray and mark there territory they nvr stop and declawing should cost th same for either

  6. Definetly a female cat as it is a harder operation for a female cat

  7. A female operation is much more complicated than a male, so some vets will charge more. You can call around for pricing if you have multiple vet choices.

You should NOT have a cat declawed unless there is a very good reason. Declawing is an ancient procedure that is quickly becoming very unpopular as it is considered cruel and inhumane. Some locales have even banned the practice. It is a very painful procedure for the cat, has no real benefit and many times causes additional physical and mental problems in the cat.

  8. I would say it cost more for a girl cat, it is a major operation for them, just like woman and men!

  9. It is a few dollars cheaper to have a male fixed. Neuter is a less invasive surgery than a spay and fewer supplies are needed. My vet charges $40 for a spay and $35 for a neuter.  As for declawing, that is a major surgery where the first joint of the toes is removed. Lots of cats develop biting behaviors or stop using the litter box after declaw. There are many alternatives to this brutal surgery. Read up on it before you mutilate your cat. Having your cat fixed is very good for it. Fixed cats don't have unwanted kittens and are not at risk of developing diseases and infections of the reproductive tract.  Declawing has no benefits to the cat and is just a quick fix for lazy owners.  This website has some really good info.
