I am looking for a medical school that offers free tuition. I heard Italy does to students, even non- citizens, but I can't find any information on the subject. Can anyone confirm or deny this? I prefer out of the United States, but I don't think any do here anyway so I don't see this being a problem...

  1. I hope you are also planning to live and work abroad once you are finished with med school.  It is very difficult for foreign trained doctors to come back to the US for training and career. It can be done, but you will not be getting your first choice residency programs as a foreign med grad

  2. In Italy schooling is considered a right, and according to the law, foreign (even from outside the EU) and Italian students are equal; you have to pay tuition fees that vary according to the University but generally are between 800 and 2000 €uro per year.

Facilitation and partial exemption are available according to financial condition of the student (that apart from Study Scholarships).

For senior high school tuition fees are near 80-100 €, while elementary and junior high school are free; but families have to buy what is called "corredo scolastico", main expenditure is for books; still, exemption is available.
