She had the chance to become No.1 like four times and every time it sliped away from her.It looks like she just can't deal with pressure.

  1. When the top seeds get cut out of tournaments like Wimbledon this year, she had the floor right open and pretty much easily lost. I think she could've beaten Venus or Serena Williams if she had confidence and had played her best. I think she should but doesn't have what it takes at the moment.

  2. She even said herself she does not deservee the top spot yet.

  3. She had so many oppurtunities but didnt use them. There is no clear no. 1 in WTA (like ATP right now). But Ivanovic is pretty good. In women Dinara Safina plays the best IMO, she's so aggressive and can beat ana, maria (has already beaten her) and even JJ. Im not a fan of her but she plays well. I like Ana as no.1 so would like to keep her there.

P.S: I miss Henin, her consistency, her game and her rule over women's tennis.

    :D

  4. If she gets the number one ranking then good for her. You can't blame Jelena, blame the fcked up ranking system. She is really consistent and I don't see a problem with her taking over the number 1.

  5. I can't hate on her, if she makes it to # 1. She is my least favorite female player. Ana will stay # 1 in my book !!!

  6. there is no dominant female player right now, no.1 spot is up for grab. i think there will be a lot of no.1 changing hands in the near future. under the circumstance, sure, she is as good as the other top players right now, she can be no.1 - for a while.

  7. She even said herself she does not deserve the top spot yet.

  8. yeah, in my opinion, she's better than Ivanovic

  9. No way no how. Not until she gets to a major final, and even wins it. The womens field, despite how strong, appears weak. Too many injuries for the top players, and at this rate, Safina will be number one before we all know it. Ivanovic obviously cant deal with the pressure, honor of being number one, and Jelena clearly plays way too many tournaments, and without some of those points, woudl be positioned around 6th or 7th at best. She has always admiited not being able to compete against the powerful players ( Williams Sisters especially) and it shows when she comes across a difficult opponent. She needs to get in better shape, relax her thigh, and build up her serve a bit before contending for top spot.

  10. No.

  11. It's true she had great opportunities when Ivanovic had been knocked out of tournaments early and it could be that she has that in the back of her mind every time it happens. But many people say becoming number one without winning a Grand Slam is preposterous, and it is a good point, but you have to commend Jankovic's consistent results. She hasn't done worse than the 4th round in Grand Slams the past two years and she should have made three semifinals this year, but that knee injury at Wimbledon prevented her from doing so and instead she has two semis and one 4th round appearance this year. Those are some great results for any player.

  12. No!

  13. No ! I dont think she deserves it !

  14. She must win majors and maintain her consistency performance to proof that she is the well deserve World No.1.  Otherwise, people won't feel she deserve to be the No.1 if she get that position.

  15. She can't do it. Maybe it's all the pressure. I think someone else would be better #1.

  16. no
