"Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven." (Matthew 10:32-33, KJV)

I've always heard Jesus is humble, loving and forgiving. This verse must be out of context.

  1. Everyone is already on the path to destruction. Jesus provides the ONLY way of escape. By denying Him, they are denying the way of escape.

True love does not set around in silence while others are walking in sin. True love seeks to help that person to overcome their sin. Jesus' resurrection gives people the grace to walk a righteous lifestyle.

15So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also.

16For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

17For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
