Question:

Does Joe Lieberman REALLY think the GOP / RNC Are His "Friends" ??

I understand why Lieberman would get up in front of the RNC in support for and out of loyalty to his friend. Although the DNC supported Sen. Lieberman, the Connecticut Democratic Party would not endorse him in his most recent Senate term. Lieberman won as an Independent so I can understand why his allegiance to Connecticut Democrats have evaporated. .

What I don't understand is how he can refer to the RNC as "my dear friends" The GOP aren't his dear friends. The GOP rediculed him and stole the presidency from Al Gore and stole Vice Presidency from him.

The reason that our nation is in such a bad way today is BECAUSE the GOP stole the election of 2000 and handed it to Bush. If Gore /Lieberman had prevailed in the court battle that erupted because of the Florida debacle, the USA would be in much better shape AND it is very possible that the DNC would have nominated Joe Lieberman as the 2008 DNC presidential candidate.

I AM NOT from Connecticut (I'm from RI) and I campaigned for Gore / Lieberman. I was disappointed and outraged when they got screwed in Florida in the election of 2000. I stood up to a lot GOP knuckleheads and defended Gore / Lieberman.

So I can understand loyalty and friendship. But I find it offensive that Joe Lieberman will now call those that screwed him his friends. In so doing Joe Lieberman ignores the loyalty that I and other Democrats had for him and Al Gore.

  1. Joe Lieberman wanted the next president to defend Israel by defeating the Arabs, by destroying their countries, by wiping them off the land of Israel, by eliminating all the anti-Israel rces off the vicinity of Israel. He obviously think that McCain, and not Obama will do that, by wanting to be in Iraq for the next 100 years.

  2. Lieberman is a fool! He just is insignificant now and moving forward. And he even endorsed Palin! I am sure he does not even know her. Who knows her! Lieberman had to be paid for this bigtime.

  3. J L lost my respect when he sacrificed his own values, sold his soul, when Gore and the Dems ran with him as VP.  I am from TN, Gore is no friend of ours. His father passed his corruption on to him and he embraced his family values.

Now after that sacrifice the dems abandon him because he wouldn't toe the line on Iraq.  He actually thought (rightly so) the surge would work.  The people of Conneticut didn't listen to the party, they chose the best man.  Now Joe is back but without being a puppet for the dems.

His speach was good, bi-partisan.  What can be wrong with that?

  4. Joe Lieberman is an example of a politician who will do anything to maintain a grasp on power and authority.

He is a traitor to democrats and the republicans use him like a w***e.

  5. LOL!  You act as if you believe your opinion about the possible present state of our nation had Gore been elected is a fact.

    You are so funny.

  6. he has joined the gop because they are in favour of attacking muslims. lieberman is a jew. jews are in favour of attacking muslims.

  7. I really like Joe, actually I would have voted for him on the McCain ticket.

  8. Lieberman's going through an identity crisis.

I don't consider him a democrat anymore. He should have an R by his name as his stances are now identical to Rudy Giulianis.

  9. he's just the Jew they haul out every 4 years but would never invite home to dinner

  10. You not understanding why proves you didnt really listen to his speech and his WHOLE speech was about how even though we have diffrences we are ONE people as a nation, so thats why. Listen next tim.e

  11. Mr Lieberman has learned much in his life and is now changed his views.  We are never too old to learn the difference in right and wrong, good and bad or even good and best.  Simply, his views fall into more of the views of the Republican party rather than the democrats at this time.

  12. This is the honest truth:  When he ran with Al Gore, I told many people that, even though I'm a Republican, I have some respect for Lieberman, and if he were at the head of the ticket over Gore, I could have even tolerated that ticket.

  13. LIEberman is such a kiss***, it's sad to see really.

Who is he kidding? I'm glad he's not a Democrat anymore.

  14. America first!!!

  15. I'm listening to MSNBC right now, and Joe is doing a great job in the post-speech interviews.  His emphasis is that McC is the man that should be president and not Obama.  Also, that we are electing an AMERICAN president, not a democrat president or a republican president, that Washington is broken and only mavericks have a chance to fix it.  He said he doesn't agree with McC on everything, but does on the big issues.  Personally, I don't think Lieberman feels comfortable with the direction the D party is going.  Many of us former Ds feel the same -- the D party left us, we didn't leave it.

(I'm getting a real kick out of these talking heads.  They're talking all about Obama, and how the Ds can pick out phrases to use against McC.  You'd think they were Obama's paid consultants!)

  16. The Democrats turned their backs on Lieberman.  They only tolerate him so they will have a majority in the senate.  I don't blame him.  I half way expected to see Hillary speak next if not Bill.  He even got some applause tonight.

  17. Well I sure don't hope that he thinks that the Wuss Democrats are his friends.  No body screwed him, he screwed himself by being a Democrat in the firs place!  George W. Bush won that election hands down.  Gore was just a sore loser!

  18. You're ignoring Joe Lieberman's whole point...he's putting his Country before his Party!

Liberals would have it the other way around and their running scared...why do you think there are people in YA who are threatening riots and destruction if Obama / Biden don't win?

Talk about stealing an election from him, didn't Obama steal the nomination from Clinton?  The whole argument that the left makes is that Gore / Lieberman had the Popular Votes compared to Bush / Cheney and the Delegate (Electoral) Votes!  Clinton had the Popular Votes and lost to Obama with the Delegate Votes.  Call it what it is or don't...but be consistent.

The whole Florida issue was called off by the Supreme Court because after three consecutive recounts...Bush / Cheney was still the winner!  Liberals wanted to keep counting, hoping an error would be made in favor of Gore / Lieberman...which is statistically possible due to variance in repetition by people.  Then you sorry As$e$ would cry...see, we got one to your three!

The left is all about division...which goes back to the threats of violence, rioting and destruction.  Cry Babies like you are telling this Country...you better let us win or else!  The whole right platform is Country Unity through Country First!  Lieberman demonstrated that tonight!  It's a sorry as$ loser who thinks he's doing it out of friendship.

Obama has voted 95% with his Party and only misses the last 5% because he's voted more Liberal than the Liberals in his own Party!

    Go McCain / Palin '08!

  19. I'm a Republican and I love the guy.

Dems are the ones that stabbed him in the back.

  20. He was paid. I have never heard a funnier pile of hollow, meaningless sloganeering in my life - he was cracking me up every time he opened that retarded mouth. I particularly loved the part about McSame being a president our allies would like and our enemies would fear - what's the old sissy gonna do, throw Viagra at them or bore them to death with his Alzheimer-induced babbling or drown them in his dementia-related drool? ROFL

  21. He's a Zionist Jew and is only interested in Israel, Israel and more Israel.  He salivates when the US gets Israel to go bomb a weak neighbor and steal more land.  It's no wonder McBush loves him..

  22. Just shows that a politician will do anything for power. They are all bums.

  23. Lieberman is nothing more than a traitor being used by the republicans to forward their agenda that destroyed our economy.

  24. Perhaps its this type of attitude that caused the "America before party" remarks from the RNC you heard tonight?

I guess that's a foreign concept for some....
