What are your thoughts on Joe Sakic's future? Is it time to hang up the skates or give it a go one more season?

Also, some hockey tidbits:

- Mike Babcock will get a new contract

- Marleau to Columbus is heating up again

- Federov wants to stay in DC and Hainsey wants to test market

  1. he won't retire He'll play another Season.

  2. I think Sakic will be back for another year.  He won't want to end his career with the injury laden problems he had this year.

I'm sure the Caps will keep Fedorov... His veteran presence is exactly what they need.  His talent was just wasted in Columbus.  Hainsey will probably get good money somewhere else.  He is the type of defenseman everyone needs right now.

  3. I'd like to see him play at least another year, he played tough in the playoffs this year and showed no real signs of slowing down!

  4. i think he stays one more year

  5. Federov should stay in DC- what a perfect atmosphere to end his career- with the young Russians around him.

Sakic plays at least one more. I'd still take him!

  6. knowing Sakic, he doesn't want to retire, but his body needs the rest. he wants to keep on playing, but he needs to give his body a break, so i would say that he is going to retire

  7. He stays two more years.  The contract discussions between him and Giguere are for 2 years plus a team option.  Money's not currently an option, but his role with the team is.

  8. One more year

  9. Hang em' up.With all the injuries to him this year and his below-average performance I think it is time for him to retire. He's getting old and he's worn down compared to his great performance in the 2006-2007 season. He has the money anyway to live a great life for the rest of his life.

  10. I think he should play again.  He definitely has the skill level to play again.  He has the heart... he should play.

Babcock and the Wings have planned a long-term contract and just needed to work out the details.. this has been known for a long time and I'm glad hes staying!!

Oh jeeze... Marleau to Columbus... can everyone shut up about the Central not being good then?

I thought it would be vice versa... but either way, Washington is on the rise...look out.
